Travel to Tottori prefecture 1: Grand Mt. Daisen

*1

I went around a mountain, seashore and a hot spring of Tottori prefecture by car at May 21 and 22.
The main sightseeing spot is Mt. Daisen, Misasa-Onsen (hot spring), Sanbutsu-ji (temple), Tottori Port, Uradome Coast.
Today, I introduce grand Mt. Daisen.

About Mt. Daisen

Mt. Daisen is a volcanic mountain located in Tottori Prefecture, Japan.
This mountain has an elevation of 1,729 meters, and the highest in the Chūgoku region.
The central part was blown off by an eruption that happened tens of thousands of years before, and an approximately 1 km of ridgeline of C type continues.
The width of the ridgeline is only 20-30 centimeters, and the left and right of the ridgeline are several hundred meters of steep cliff, and traversing is prohibited.
The foot of the mountain is about 35km in a north and south direction, and the snowcapped aspect from the west is compared to Mount Fuji.
This has been the subject of mountain worship from ancient times.
Today, this area attracts widespread popularity as a national park, leisure on the plateaus, ski, and mountain climbing.

Afterword
As the altitude of the moving route became high, it became cool, and I could enjoy comfortable drive.
Blessed with splendid weather, the colors of fresh green and flowers were just gorgeous.

On the next time, I introduce other nature and scenery of Mt. Daisen.

I went to Wakanoura for seeing autumnal leaves and eating seafood.

We went to Wakayama October 24, 25.
My wife planned this trip for her mother, but, as for me, a dinner and a hot spring were the biggest pleasure.

On the first day, we looked at Kimiidera(temple), Tamatsujima Shrine, Kishu-Toshogu( Shrine) and stayed at a hotel of Saikazaki.
On the next day, we went to Kuroe town of lacquerware, Kuroshio market of seafood, Yuasa town of soy sauce and mandarin orange
It was fine on the first day, but it was clouded from the evening, and it was rainy from the start of the next day.

The autumnal leaves seem to have been overblown.

About this hotel
Good point of the hotel is that we can thoroughly enjoy a nice view of the setting sun and the fishing port from a room and a hot spring, the dining room.
Furthermore, the dinner and breakfast were splendid.
Our room was old and inconvenient, but we were satisfied with all the others.
This neighborhood is slightly desolate in an old hot-spring hotel street.
It is surprising that there was such a good place in Wakayama city.

The photo of the hot spring was borrowed from HP of the hotel.

Introduction of the dinner
The dinner was ingenious seasoning, good setout, and considerate service.
We were able to enjoy the cooking deliciously.

Dish 7:  Stewed taro with starchy sauce.
Dish 9:  A clear soup of freshwater clam, and boiled rice with sauce of grouper.

Hot spring in Nagano Prefecture: “Yukawa hot spring, kappa's hot spring” “湯川温泉、河童の湯”

I introduce you to a hot spring of Chino-shi, Nagano.
We took a morning bath in an unexpected turn of events.
I enjoyed a feeling of relaxation by it.

< 2.  the bathtub of " kappa's hot spring",  open-air bath is its outside >

The reason that I entered this hot spring
In order that we see a grandchild’s recital, we were scheduled to go to Nagano prefecture.
However, we had to cross Akashi strait Bridge hastily by night because typhoon 11 had approached.
And we drove all night, taking a nap in some service areas, and reached Lake Suwa service area early in the morning.
In this neighborhood, a hot spring that we can take a bath early from 7:00 a.m. was only “kappa's hot spring”.
It is the place of around 25 minutes by car from Lake Suwa service area.
I intended to be the earliest visitor, but several persons had already taken a bath.
The structure of the hot spring was new, and it was clean.
While I had been taking the open-air bath along with getting sunlight of the morning and breathing mountain air, my fatigue seemed to melt.

< 3.  Lake Shirakaba

About kappa's hot spring
Because it was rainy all morning in that day because of a typhoon, I took photographs on the next day.
This hot spring is halfway through a road leading to Lake Shirakaba and is in Yukawa village leaving a traditional feature in foot of a mountain.

< 4. There is " kappa's hot spring" in the small forest among the village of the photograph center. >

< 5.  Kappa's hot spring, river Yukawa flowing along it, the Shinto shrine bordering it >

It was built at 60 years or more ago, and it began from the public bathhouse of the village at first.
Suwa city and Chino city of Nagano have some hot spring and some public bathhouse.
The hot spring is water-clear (alkaline simple hot water) and the fountainhead temperature is 56.
The charge is 400 yen per one adult..
The origin of the name of this hot spring is from a folktale that Kappa was living in this river Yukawa.
Kappa is a mythical being, a good swimmer, and was usually seen as mischievous troublemakers or trickster figures.
Some trees of splendid Japan cedar of this shrine had a mark of “On-bashira”.
Are these used for the pillar of a festival or shrine pavilions?

I had a good time in an unexpected way.
I recommend it to you.

A hot spring and a roadside station in Awaji island

< 1. a view from the hot spring “美湯・松帆の郷”, by the HP >

Today I introduce you to a hot spring and a roadside station in the northern edge of Awaji island.

< 2.  a full view of the hot spring and Akashi Strait Bridge >

The hot spring “ village Matuho”
It is a hot spring on the hillside in northern edge of Awaji island.
This maximum charm is to be able to look at Akashi Strait Bridge and the strait from an open-air bath.
It is good to be soaking in a bathtub along with looking at the ship that goes back and forth leisurely.
There are a restaurant and a souvenir shop in this hot spring.

< 3. a view from the bathtub >

The roadside station “Awaji”
This view from here is also good, because this roadside station is just beside the biggest bridge.
There are a restaurant, a souvenir shop, and a seafood shop in it.
This restaurant serves Japanese-style and western-style meals.
Recently, our liking is the bowl of rice topped with sashimi in the seafood shop.
In the back of the shop, there is live-box that sharp-toothed eel, octopus and other fishes swim in.
I took a fancy for eating fresh delicacies of the sea at ease.

Travel to Hokuriku 3: I was intoxicated with the sunrise

I took photos of the sunrise that rose in Notojima Bridge from the park of footbath of the seashore.

At this season, the distant view became dim on many days because of spring haze, and it was so this day also.
For three days, although it was blessed with fine weather and there was also no wind, only this was regrettable.
The cloud has begun to appear thinly today, too.

I had gone in hot spring in the morning at 4:30 and I was running out in order to take a snap of sunrise.
Although it was refreshing in the daytime, it was still cold in the morning of Hokuriku.
When I had finished taking a photograph, my body was cold.
When returning, I was able to warm my cold hands by steam of hot spring going up from a drainage conduit.
Fortunately my desired snap of a sunrise from an island was able to take today.

Japanese hot spring : open-air bath

in HOTEL J’S NICHINAN RESORT

P.1 in HOTEL J’S NICHINAN RESORT

Japanese almost love hot springs, especially open-air bath. In the morning and the evening, while we feel the cold air in the nude,  immerse themselves in bath. There is nothing to interrupt, and then, when it is able to look at a mountain or the ocean from a bathtub, we are pleasant. We will be the highest if we can see sunrise and the setting sun. Japanese people feel and enjoy a season to the autumnal leaves, the snow-covered landscape, and fresh green which are visible from a bath. If an open-air bath is located in the hotel on the journey, everyone is overjoyed.

Here, the hot spring which I enjoyed is introduced for foreigners.
Finally, there is one of the Turkey. Many of used photographs are reproduced from the WEB site of each hotel.

The hot springs are scattered in this mountain side. if it is fine, Sakurajima of the volcano which appears on a big bay can be seen from this bath. Japanese people like the bath was constructed on rock like the photo. One side of the bath is surrounded by trees, and the other is open sight, then, besides it can be seen far, it is the best.

Upper two P5 photos, map No.5, the hotel is located near the ridge of the Northern Alps in Nagano Prefecture. This hotel is located in the valley of 1400m altitude, many climbers begin to climb from here. Here is surrounded by the mountains. The time of autumnal leaves, the moutains is decorated really nice. The view from the bath is not good. It is surrounded by mountains and trees. You can enjoy the taste of each of the four seasons as show in the photograph. Lower, in the panoramic view of Alps,
this hotel is located on the hillside.

Upper, the hot spring made in the earthquake is located on the plateau above the lime shelf. Ruins Hierapolis of the time of the Roman Empire is located on the plateau. Many pillars fall and lie in the hot spring. Many men and women are enjoying in the hot spring pool with a swimsuit. Center, it is a scene of the famous limestone shelf, but, due to the small rain, it was regrettable if there is no water in the dish. in Pam Thermal Hotel / a night view

P7 in Pam Thermal Hotel a night view

This hotel is located just below the limestone shelf. The hot spring water contains sand was extremely fine. The sand had to settle on the bottom of the bath. Everyone enters wearing a swimsuit in the hot spring. Compared with the hot spring in Japan, the temperature is lower and the bathtub is shallower.  As shown in the photo of a night view, indoor hot spring pool and outdoor hot spring pool on the second floor can be seen in the back of the blue pool.

We came over the open-air bath. There is a hot spring pool, such as a large palace in Budapest, Hungary.  I did not have time to go there, unfortunately. In China, there was no habit to enjoy hot springs and open-air bath, have come to enjoy slowly. I do not know, that there is a popular hot spring in Southeast Asia. How to enjoy hot springs varies from country to country.

Become naked, we entered a hot spring with strangers, and sometimes have a lively conversation with them. In open-air bath, Japanese socialize with nude, enjoy the season and scenery, and heal the mind and body.
