Today, I introduce the last half of our boat tour of Lijiang River.

今日は、漓江下りの後半を紹介します。

The numbers of the satellite photo

6: The Painted Hill of Nine Horses. 7-8: Yellow Cloth Shoal. 8: Xingping town. 9: Yangshuo.

The course of this last half is from the Painted Hill of Nine Horses introduced last time to Yangshuo of the terminal port.

There still are various acute crests in the beginning of this last half, but these gradually become the gentle mountain image.

後半は、前回紹介した九馬画山から終着の陽朔までです。

後半の最初はまだ奇峰が林立しているが、徐々になだらかな山影になっていく。

I photographed these two at between No. 7 and No. 8 of the above map.

Upper photo:  At 12:00, the back.

A precipice of the right side is the Painted Hill of Nine Horses and much photos of Yellow Cloth Shoal seem to be taken from a little more down stream.

At this time, our lunch just began, and I missed a shutter chance while I had left the observation deck.

This photo resembles the Yellow Cloth Shoal of the 20-Yuan bill of China (the below figure).

“Yellow Cloth Shoal” means the mountains and sky clearly are reflected in the surface of the river.

At the departure, the observation deck was full of people, but people almost returned to the cabin after an hour and a half.

Persons that stayed in the observation deck until the last were fewer than 10 persons.

右手の絶壁は九馬画山で、多くの黄布倒影の写真はもう少し下流から撮っているようです。

この時、ちょうど昼食が始まり、展望デッキを少し離れている間にシャッターチャンスを逃した。

この写真は中国の２０元札の黄布倒影（下図）と似ています。

もっとも黄布倒影と言うからには、川面に山影が鮮明に映っていなければならない。

出港時、展望デッキは人で一杯でしたが、1時間半もすると多くは船室に戻ります。

最後まで展望デッキに張り付いていたのは１０名もいなかった。

We passed through West Town full of tourists, and reached the big town of Yangshuo.

Upper photo:  Many boats come and go close to each other because the river is narrow.

There is one person who has a blue flag in front of the boat.

When navigating the left side, the person has a blue flag, and in the reverse case, he has a red flag.

In old days, these ships were made of bend bamboos, but these two boats were made fake bamboo by plastics.

よく見ると前方で青い旗を持っている人がいる。

左側を航行する場合は青旗、右側は赤旗のようです。

昔、船は竹を曲げて筏に組んだようですが、よく見ると樹脂製で似せてあります。

At lunchtime, various dishes were served in the first floor cabin.

All persons of boarding party seem to have taken about 30 minutes for taking these dishes.

I got my wife to give me a little dishes because I didn’t want to lose of my time.

On the next time, I introduce different sightseeing.

Today, I introduce the first half of our boat tour of Lijiang River.

This part is abundant in various acute crests and a world of ink painting spreads before our eyes.

Let us enjoy this boat tour of the River.

今日は、９月１６日の漓江下りの前半を紹介します。

この部分が最も奇峰に富んでおり、飽きない水墨画の趣が続きます。

皆さんに川下りを楽しんでもらいます。

After about 15 minutes passed from our departure, the row of mountains closed on us as if to stop our going.

This course that I introduce is till 2 hours 20 minutes of the first half and the Painted Hill of Nine Horses.

It was fine, but the whole of landscape was veiled in a haze.

Summer sunlight was strong and the humidity was high, but I was comfortable when a gentle breeze blew from the river.

出港して１５分ほどすると前方を遮るように山並みが迫って来ます。

今回紹介するのは、前半の２時間２０分で、ほぼ中間にある九馬画山までです。

晴れてはいるのですが、全体に靄がかかっていました。

夏の日射しが強く湿度も高いのですが、川風にあたっていると心地良かった。

We enjoyed the boat tour of the river form Zhujiang wharf to Yangshuo for 4 hours 20 minutes.

This area is most abundant in various acute crests within 437 km in total length of Lijiang River and is most popular course.

As the satellite photo suggests, acute crests of limestone having several dozen meters in high line up on the both sides of the river innumerably.

Famous places in the satellite photo

1: Zhujiang wharf, we boarded a boat here. 2: Caoping. 3: Crown Cave. 4: Yangdi. 5: Langshi. 6: the Painted Hill of Nine Horses.

The number described above shows the number of each photo, and the alphabet shows the sequence of photographing.

The time in ＜Title column＞ indicates the photographing time in local, and “ the front ”(the lower reaches) or “ the back ” (the upper reaches) indicates the direction of photographing on our ship.

私達は竹江桟橋から陽朔までの約５５ｋｍを４時間２０分かけて川下りを楽しんだ。

この範囲が全長４３７ｋｍの漓江の中で最も奇観に富んだポピュラーなコースです。

衛星写真からわかるように、高さ数十ｍある石灰岩の尖った鋒が川の両岸に無数に並んでいる。

衛星写真内の主な名所。

１：竹江、ここで乗船。　２：草坪。　３：冠岩。　４：楊堤。５：波石。　６：九馬画山。

上記の数字が各写真の数字を示し、アルファベットは時系列を示します。

例えば、写真の番号１ｂは名所１から２までの間で2番目に撮った写真です。

＜タイトル欄＞の時刻は現地の撮影時間で、前方（下流側）、後方（上流側）は船からの撮影方向を示す。

We finally started the departure from Zhujiang wharf.

We had come by bus to Zhujiang from Guilin and boarded a large pleasure boat here.

The pleasure boats with many tourists departed one after another.

As the photo shows, the cabin of our boat had the first and second floor, and the third floor is all observation deck.

I thoroughly enjoyed the scenery by standing more than four hours in the observation deck, and I just had lunch on the way easily.

Lijiang River is big, but there are many places that the boatable river width is narrow, because it winds and is shallow.

The scenery is rich, because there are various cliffs, shallows, sandbars, and forests.

いよいよ竹江桟橋から出港です。

私達は桂林からバスで竹江まで来て、ここで大型の遊覧船に乗りました。

観光客を乗せた遊覧船が次から次へと出港していきました。

乗った船は写真にあるように船室が２階まであり、３階が展望デッキです。

私は途中の昼食もそこそこに、展望デッキで４時間以上立ち詰めで景色を堪能しました。

漓江は大きいが、曲がりくねり浅いため航行可能な川幅は狭い所もある。

その景観は断崖絶壁もあれば浅瀬や砂州、様々な樹林があり変化に富んでいる。

＜　5.  From Caoping to passing the front of Crown Cave　＞

2a:  At 10:33, the front. Around Caoping.

In some places, there are villages and private houses on the riverside, and we have an opportunity to be exposed to their living.

3a:  At 10:33, the left side. Crown Cave.　

The reason of the Crown Cave is because the mountaintop is like a hat, but there is also a big hole facing the river.

A river has flowed from the inside of this hole, and there is a limestone cave that we can go sightseeing in.

3b:  At 10:54, the back.

As the photo shows, there were also a lot of people on the observation deck of our ship.

There was the announcement of the name when we came to each famous place, but it was useless because it was the Chinese language.

For taking a picture, I recommend that you come and go between the third-floor observation deck front and the second-floor rear observation deck.

所々、川縁には村や民家があり暮らしに触れることできる。

３a：　１０：３７、左舷。冠岩。

冠岩の所以はその烏帽子状の山頂にあるが、川に面して大きな穴もある。

この奥より川が流れて出ており、中に観光できる鍾乳洞がある。

３b：　１０：５４、後方。

私達の船の展望デッキも写真のように人が一杯になりました。

名所に来ると案内放送があるのですが、中国語なので役に立たなかった。

写真を撮る為には３階展望デッキ前方と２階後部展望デッキを行き来することをお薦めします。

ツアー参加者の席は２階に確保されていて、貴重品を除く荷物はその席において置けました。

From ancient China, this has long been praised in the phrase “the scenic beauty of Guilin is the best of China”, and really Sansui-ga (a kind of ink painting) spreads out here.

Nine white rock surfaces on the central cliff are seen as nine running horses.

I took this picture from the lower reaches for avoiding backlight.

This continues next time.

中央の崖に九ヵ所の白い岩肌が露呈しているのが、駆けめぐる９頭の馬に見えるそうです。

多くの写真は九馬画山を正面、つまり上流から撮るのですが、逆光だったのでこれは下流側からの写真です。

これで前半の川下りは終わりました。

次回は、景観と風情を紹介します。

I traveled to Guilin in China for 5 days.

The main attractions of this trip were boat tours of the Lijiang River and a walking of Logsheng Rice Terrace.

I introduce the sightseeing and a stroll in Guilin city.

私は中国の桂林を４泊５日で旅行してきました。

この旅行の目玉は、漓江下りと龍背棚田の散策でした。

これから桂林の観光と町歩きを紹介します。

Summary of this trip

I joined a tour organized by a tour company with my wife.

This travel schedule was from Tuesday, September 15, 2015 to Saturday, September 19.

We shuttled between Kansai International Airport and Guilin Airport via Shanghai Airport by airplanes.

We went around the actual place by a bus.

旅行の概要

ツアー会社：　トラピックス

ツアー名：　桂林と絶景の龍勝５日間

旅行日：　２０１５年９月１５日～１９日

主な行程：　関空・上海乗り継ぎ・桂林空港を前後２日かけて往復。現地は総べてバスで移動。

Good points of this trip

Because 11 participants of this trip can sit just around one Chinese table, we could travel harmoniously. 

Because we stayed for 4 days in same hotel, daily packing was easy.

This trip included in various sightseeing, but the fare was inexpensive comparatively.

Those days were hot as the highest temperature registered 31- 34 ℃, but we were blessed with fine weather.

Bad points of this trip

Our hotel was facing the Lijiang River, but was far from the downtown.　

We had to stay at 5 specialty stores for more than half-hour.

この旅行の良かった点

参加者１1名は一つの中華テーブルを囲める人数なので和気あいあいと旅行が出来た。

一つのホテルを４連泊したので毎日の荷造りが楽だった。

多彩な観光の割にツアー料金が安かった。

現地ガイドの日本語がいまいちだったが誠心誠意で良かった。

最高気温３１～３４℃と暑かったが晴れに恵まれた。

不満な点

宿泊ホテルは漓江に面していたが繁華街まで徒歩２５分以上と少し不便でした。

５ヵ所の専門店に各半時間以上立ち寄るのがつらい。

About Guilin

Guilin is in a mountainous area of the south of China, and a karst basin at an altitude of 150m. 

The scenery consists of numberless mountains of approximately tens of meters, because the ground was covered by limestone of the thickness of kilometers.

The population of Guilin city is 5 million, and 740000 in the urban area.

There are many minority people in this autonomous region, and there are the people living in the urban area, on the other hand there are the people who continue still a traditional lifestyle in the mountain range.

桂林について

桂林は中国南部の山岳地帯にあり、標高１５０ｍのカルスト盆地です。

深さ数ｋｍの石灰岩で覆われていることにより、この地の風景は数十ｍ以上の尖った無数の山々が形づくる。

桂林市の人口は５００万人、市区の人口は７４万人と大都会です。

この自治区には多くの少数民族がおり、都市に暮らす人々もいるが、今も山岳地帯で昔ながらの生活を続ける人々もいる。

Our excursion boat travels slowly down the river a range of about 60 km long over four hours.

Various shapes of the mountains appears in right and left, and we can see traditional nature and living on the riverside.

遊覧船が６０ｋｍほどを４時間かけてゆっくり下る。

多彩な山容が左右に流れて行き、川辺には昔ながらの自然と暮らしが垣間見える。

Everybody was people who I met for the first time, and there were people who participated from far away outside Kinki Region.

Much people were experienced travelers, and had one’s own unique view.

Sometimes, someone led us skillfully, and other persons deferred to it, and thanks to this, our trip became happy and excitative.

I thank all participants and a local guide heartily.

皆、初めて会った人々で、近畿圏外の遠くから来られた人々もいる。

多くは旅慣れた人であり、一家言ある人達でした。

時には、彼らの巧みなリードぶりと老境の謙譲さが程良く調和し、楽しくチャレンジに満ちた旅となりました。

皆、人生の一仕事（子育て、仕事）を終え、更に意気盛んな人々でした。

参加者と現地ガイドに心より感謝します。

Now, things that I think about this trip

Guilin was a very lively big city.

On the other hand, the people enjoy this firm grand that the Lijiang River flows through.

In there, their festinate behavior had coexisted with magnanimous mind in the magnificent nature.

Although it was incoherent, there was immeasurable energy, and there was not fragile thing that I felt about China before we traveled.

This continues next time.

今、思うこと

桂林は実に活気ある大都市でした。

一方で人々は漓江が流れるこの大地を満喫している。

そこには気ぜわしさとおおらかさが雄大な自然の中で共存していた。

ここには、ちぐはぐだが底知れないエネルギーがあり、日本で抱いていた危うげな中国を感じさせるものはなかった。
