I begin this serialization to introduce "Capital in Twenty-First Century”

This book is the economic book that he analyzed modern society from a large perspective into.

This will become the best book that was written to rebuke society in season.

ピケティの「２１世紀の資本」を紹介する連載を始めます。

この本は現代社会を最も大局的に分析した経済書です。

これは時宜を得た最高の警世の書になるでしょう。

Preface

This book answered to almost all doubts that I had about the movement of the world, and is stimulating and suggestive.

However, most readers will be tired to read because the book is thick economic book.

Therefore I look at the basic point at issue before looking at the detailed analysis of the book.

And it is necessary to dissolve the spread false idea and the prejudice.

はじめに

著書は、私が抱いていた世界の動きの疑問にほぼすべて答えてくれ、刺激的で示唆に富んでいます。

しかし、なにせ分厚い経済書なので読むのに疲れます。

例え読み終えても、著者の分析と提言は私達一般に馴染みのないものです。

さらに、読者はネガティブキャンペーンに曝され迷うことになる。

そこで、著書の詳細な分析を見る前に、基本的な論点を見ておきます。

さらに、蔓延している誤解や偏見を解きほぐす必要があります。

What does Piketty discuss?

The most important conclusion is two.

"Economic disparity is in progress now in this world and spreads more"

"As for the corrective, a global progressive taxation to property is the best"

最重要な結論は二つです。

「経済格差が世界で今まさに進行し、さらに拡大して行く」

「その是正策は、世界的な累進財産課税が最良」

Characteristic of this book

This author is a French young mathematics economist, but has already worked on a study of disparity more than 15 years.

The characteristic of this book makes an analysis of the economic disparity of main developed country by numerical value from a large perspective historically and politically.

He did not use numerical formula and technical term as much as possible.

He extracts the important sign from opaque enormous economic data, and explains the phenomenon in detail and easily.

Therefore he spent 600 pages and 115 charts.

この著書の特徴

著者はフランスの若い数理経済学者ですが、既に１５年以上も格差研究に取り組んでいます。

また、新聞紙上などで舌鋒鋭く政治・経済運営について論評、提言を行っています。

他の警世的な経済書と比べ、この本の特徴は、主要先進国の経済格差を数値で、かつ歴史的・政治的に包括的に分析していることです。

また、あらゆる疑問、賛否両論の学説、主要な学説、実際の税制や政府の経済政策をことごとく論じて行きます。

しかも多くの読者が理解し易いように数式や専門用語を極力使用しない。

膨大で不透明な経済データーから重要な兆候を抽出し、その現象を詳細かつ平易に説明する。

その為に６００頁と１１５の図表を費やした。

私の見る限り、著者は学者らしく偏りの無い正確な分析を目指している。

従って折に触れ、分析の誤差や予測の信憑性を逐一述べていく。

その為に焦点がぼやけ、また経済現象中心なので私には少し物足りない。

しかし、著者の意志は明確です。

それは世界が格差の波に呑まれようとしているが、そのことを多くの人に正確に知らせたい。

また、今からそれを防ぐ為に必要な手立てを取るべきだと訴える。

Thing that I wish

A genius economist tried to explain everything comprehensively, and the explanation about a basic concept was omitted.

In other words

"Why is disparity bad?"

"What’s wrong with disparity?"

"Why is the corrective of disparity avoided?"

At first, I look at basic matters of disparity, and prejudice and misunderstanding about it.

After that, I'd like to approach the quintessence of this book with everybody.

This continues on next time.

私が望むこと

何せ天才経済学者がすべてを網羅的に説明しようとして、基本的な概念については説明を省いています。

つまり、

「なぜ格差がいけないのか？」

「格差のどこに問題があるのか？」

「なぜ格差是正を避けるのか？」

先ず、これらの格差の基本的な事柄、ついで偏見や誤解を見ていきます。

その後、皆さんと共に著書の真髄に迫りたい。
