Traveled to Spain and Portugal 5: Windmills of La Mancha, Spain, on the trip 5th day, October 16

Today, I introduce white windmills famous for Don Quixote.

A superb view and refreshing wind waited for us.

We continued going southward through vast expanse of red earth from Madrid for approximately two hours.

The field that had finished the harvest of the crops was dotted with olives and vineyards of low vines.

Here is in La Mancha.

今日は、ドン・キホーテで有名な白い風車群を紹介します。

そこには絶景と爽やかな風が待っていました。

私達はマドリッドから、茫漠たる赤い大地を2時間ほど南下し続けました。

作物の刈り入れが終わった畑にはオリーブや背の低いぶどうが点在していた。

ここはラ・マンチャ地方です。

Before long, a mountain range began to be seen in the right hand distance of our bus.

やがてバスの右手遠方に山系が見えて来た。

写真中央の小さな丘が多分目的地です。

The white windmills of Consuegra have approached us.

コンスエグラの白い風車が迫って来ました。

The windmill was intended to mill cereals.

The brown building of the right-hand back is a fortress of Islam at about the 11th century.

Unfortunately, windmills that Don Quixote challenged for the honors are in another place.

風車は穀物を挽くためのものでした。

右手奥の茶色い建物は11世紀頃のイスラムの要塞です。

残念ながらドン・キホーテが挑んだ風車は、別の場所にあります。

When I stood on the hill, refreshing wind cooled my face that glowed with strong sunshine.

In the azure sky, clouds gather, blow out and clear.

丘の上に立っていると、爽やかな風が強い陽差しで火照った顔を冷やしてくれる。

紺碧の空には、雲が湧いては流れ消えて行きます。

It is regrettable that I cannot transmit that I felt the excitement and the exhilaration, when I stood on the ground and in the sky of Iberia.

イベリアの大地と空に立つ、この爽快感と興奮を伝えることが出来ないのが残念です。

Consuegra town sees below my eyes.

眼下にコンスエグラの町が見える。

Some entrances of houses become curtain.

We see that the lifestyle of people who live in the dry ground which become extreme heat in summer and become also zero degree in winter.

It becomes a continuous with the next time.

家屋の入口はカーテンになっている。

夏は極暑、冬は零度にもなる乾燥した大地で暮らす人々のたたずまいが覗える。
