Today, I introduce two Chinese films that I saw.

One is “Coming Home” directed by famous director, and the performance of two players was wonderful. 

Other one is “Aftershock “ that portrayed the real giant earthquake.

These portray the conjugal love and the affection between parent and child in the extreme situation.

今日は最近見た２本の中国映画を紹介します。

一つは著名な監督と二人の演技が光る「妻への家路」です。

もう一つは実際にあった巨大地震を描いた「唐山大地震」です。

夫婦愛と親子の愛を極限の状況でうたいあげます。

About “Coming Home”　

This director is Zhang Yimou, and Chen Daoming and Gong Li play the husband and wife.

The story would be carefully watched since when the husband was released for the first time in a couple of decades because of the end of the Cultural Revolution.

Because it is that his wife was anxiously awaiting the husband, but she had lost the memory of the husband for some reason.

The wife treated the husband like a stranger, but he made every effort to have his wife recall his face by one daughter's supporting.

The last scene has a strong impression.

「妻への家路」について

監督はチャン・イーモウで、夫婦をチェン・ダオミンとコン・リーが演じます。

話は、文化大革命終了により２０年ぶりに夫が開放されたところから、目が離せなくなります。

妻は夫を待ちこがれているのですが、なぜか夫の記憶を失っていたからです。

夫は他人扱いされながらも一人娘の助けを借りながら、妻に自分を思い出してもらおうと奮闘します。

ラストシーンは胸に迫るものがあります。

The upper is the film “The Road Home”.

The lower is the film “The Story of Qiu Ju”.

About director Zhang Yimou

I found out for the first time about this director at the film “The Story of Qiu Ju” of 1992.

Gong Li of the main cast performed very well as brave housewife in it.

I realized that China just was changing because the story had included some social criticisms.

In the film “The Road Home” of 1999, Zhang Ziyi was selected as the main cast at the first performance, and she performed very well as rural innocent daughter.

The turning yellow of Ocher Plateau in the film had been very beautiful, and the sense of beauty of the director led up to later film “House of Flying Daggers” (the cast are Zhang Ziyi, Andy Lau, and Takeshi Kaneshiro).

チャン・イーモウ監督について

私が監督を最初に知ったのは１９９２年の「秋菊の物語」でした。

主役のコン・リーが気丈夫な主婦役を好演し、社会批判も盛り込まれ、私は中国に変化が起きていることを実感しました。

１９９９年の「初恋の来た道」では、チャン・ツィイーが初演で主役に抜擢され、田舎の初々しい娘を好演していた。

この映画で映し出される黄土高原の黄葉が非常に美しく、監督の美意識は後の「LOVERS」（チャン・ツィイー、金城武、アンディ・ラウ出演）にも通じます。

I fascinated the female role by Leslie Cheung of the right side in the photo, but he unfortunately committed suicide.

写真右のレスリー・チャンの女形は鬼気迫るものがあり魅了されたが、残念ながら自殺されました。

About Chen Dao Ming

I was charmed by his acting skill of the “Legend of Chu and Han”

He completely played as hero Liu Bang having coarseness and boldness.

In the film “Aftershock “, he also played the important role.

He is an actor with a wide range of performing skills.

About Gong Li

I found out for the first time about this actress at the film “The Story of Qiu Ju”.

I get a strong impression from it.

Later, she became an actress on behalf of China.

She seemed to be good at sturdy role until now, but it was considerably different this time.

チェン・ダオミンについて

私が彼の演技力に魅せられたのはテレビドラマ「項羽と劉邦」でした。

彼は粗野で大胆な英雄劉邦を完璧に演じていました。

「唐山大地震」でも重要な役を演じています。

実に幅広い演技が出来る役者です。

コン・リーについて

私が始めて彼女を知ったのは先ほどの「秋菊の物語」で、強烈な印象を受けました。

後に「覇王別姫」「生きる」などに出て、中国を代表する女優となっていきます。

彼女は今までしたたかな役回りが得意だったようですが、今回はかなり異なった。

About "Aftershock"

I knew neither this supervision nor the cast except one person.

One of the highlights of this film is the powerful reproduction scene of an earthquake.　

The story describes the process from when a daughter had been separated from her mother by an earthquake till when the daughter met her mother again after the passing of many long years.

Various love of families, married couples and parent and child politely was described by many characters.

These became foreshadowing, and it led to the impressive final phase.

The daughter’s enmity was dispelled suddenly by the dramatic scene of the final phase.

「唐山大地震」について

私はこの監督も出演者も一人を除いて知りませんでした。

この映画の見所の一つは迫力ある地震の再現シーンです。

話は、地震で生き別れた母と娘が、長い年月を経て、ある出来事を切っ掛けに再会する過程を描いています。

多くの登場人物によって家族や夫婦、親子の愛が丁寧に描かれて行きます。

それらが伏線となり、終盤の劇的なシーンによって娘に氷解の時が突如として訪れます。

Last

The max characteristic of two films is to have looked at love of family in common.

While I had been seeing two films, my tears didn't stop.

In “Coming Home”, the description of the Chinese Revolution was incomplete, and there seems to be present political circumstances in the background.

Because this director described in detail the extraordinariness of the Chinese Revolution in “To live” of 1994, and other director did same thing in “Farewell My Concubine”.

I recommend these films.

最後に

これら映画の最大の特徴は共に家族の愛を深く見つめていることです。

私は両作品を見ながら涙が止まらなかった。

「妻への家路」では文化大革命の語りが不完全ですが、背景に現在の政治状況があるようです。

この監督は１９９４年「生きる」で、別の監督が１９９３年「覇王別姫」で、文革の異常さを描いていたのですから。

私はこの映画を推薦します。
